Missions

Nigel and Debbie Desmond

The Desmond’s believe that life is an Adventure rooted in the pursuit of knowing and being known by God. It’s a Voyage of Discovery to find our true identity, purpose and uniqueness and revel in the freedom to enjoy & celebrate who God made us, and as a result, others. Finally fife is an Invitation to people and nations to encounter and experience the God of Life in ALL of life.

Their mission is to share that we are a dwelling place for the manifest presence of God that ignites revival and reformation in our city, country and nations of the earth. It their desire to equip an apostolic generation who value and pursue the manifest presence of God and advance the Kingdom by loving people, declaring the goodness of God and demonstrating the Kingdom message of ‘Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven’.

Rory and Tseli Downard

The Downard’s are missionaries to Lesotho and are currently in the Nk’hu-Nk’hu village. Here they oversee various agricultural projects (greenhouse and piggery). There is on going building and have most recently completed a rondavel which serves as a ministry meeting place and a small library. The Downard’s regularly host mission trips and work closely with YWAM. We hope to be able to send a team from Valley Church soon!

HBCCA

The Hout Bay Christian Community Association (HBCCA) was been established on the 3rd March 1994 as a Christian and charitable institution. Valley Church is proud to have supported this initiative since its inception and more recently partnered with them to provide food parcels to those most heavily effected by COVID.

The HBCCA is a public, non-profit organisation which, holding no bias towards any particular Christian denomination or political affiliation, is established for the following objectives:

1. Promotion or practice of the Christian religion which encompasses acts of worship and community service

2. Promotion of community based projects relating to self-assistance, empowerment and skills development

3. Promotion and facilitation of health care services to the community in collaboration with the Health Department or relevant authorities.

4. Outreach programmes for the poor and needy

If you would like more information regarding this organisation, have a look at their website.

Noel & Jean Livesey

The Livesey’s are missionaries to Hermanus and are currently working with One Challenge and the Celebrate Recovery curriculum. The focus of CR is to build each other up, confess our sins one to another and to support each other so that we can be healed. Their hearts are that they would be able to provide a safe place for all to heal from their past hurts, hang-ups and habits and know the love of God.

Freddy and Marie Josee Tuyizere

Our relationship with the Tuyizere’s began over 20 years ago when they came to study at Bible College in South Africa. Valley Church was instrumental in them being able to complete their studies and return to Burundi. Upon their return, Freddy established Youth For Christ in Burundi and has over the last twenty years been blessed to see that ministry thrive throughout the country. Testimony to this has been the building of many schools, orphanages and medical clinics that have had a great impact on their local communities. Freddy has also been very successful in raising up new leaders in the country in this time. In 2022, the Lord revealed to Freddy and Marie Josee that their time at YFC had come to an end and that they should resign from that ministry. God birthed within them a vision to plant a new church in downtown Bujumbura. Consequently, in February 2023 the Abundance Life Church in Bujumbura has its first service under the leadership of Freddy and Marie Josee along with trusted partners that they have journeyed with over many years. They are trusting God for the funds to purchase their own land and to be able to build their own church.
